For example, yesterday was my prom. My outfit, like almost every outfit I wear, was a mix of women’s and men’s clothing. My suit and undershirt were from the women’s section, while my shirt, tie, socks, and shoes were from the men’s section. The end result was something masculine, but shaped to fit the body I have. I don’t feel like it’s cross dressing for me to wear clothing that happens to be designed for women. Clothing doesn’t have a gender, after all, and women’s clothing is often cut in a way that fits me better. Wearing men’s clothing definitely isn’t cross dressing, because I am a man. In the same way, a trans women dressing like the woman she is is not cross dressing.
