If it’s ur first trek, then go for Kedarkantha. It’s absolutely beautiful and comparatively easier than Brahmatal. February is peak winter season and snow fall is expected almost every day of the month. Just understand that kedarkantha is termed as Easy. So if you go for Kedarkantha, probably the last day i.e. summit day will be a bit difficult as you wake up before the sun to reach summit and experience the magical sun rise. Brahmatal on the other hand is categorized as easy moderate. I did both the treks and I personally think Brahmatal was harder. The views are amazing at Brahmatal though. Especially from jhandi top. But the second day from Bekaltal to Brahmatal base camp via the lake is long. And tiring. You almost walk the entire day. If it snows you are screwed coz you cross a ridge this day. The winds and the snow will hurt. The summit climb is arduous too. Mind you, the views are absolutely worth it though. At kedarkantha, the summit climb is perhaps the most adventurous thing I’ve ever done. Climb, crawl do whatever u can to reach the top. The early morning sunrise is something different. You’ll never experience something like it ever. That’s my guarantee. Go for Kedarkantha if u want to keep it simple. Go for Brahmatal if you have previous experience of trekking in Himalayan region.
